Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully to miss the first game at home in the Los Angeles Dodgers' only the second time in 63 years due to severe cold, according to the command of Major League Baseball.
Scully's experience as a commentator on the Dodgers is the longest in the history of sports broadcasting, in accordance with the guidance of the media. It relies on the house and will not be available for today's game against Pittsburgh, the Dodgers said in a statement.
Charley Steiner and Steve Lyons will call the game on television, and Rick Monday will manage the rights to the radio.
Scully called the "Dodgers opened the season in San Diego on April 5.
The only house that opens the Dodgers, Scully missed 84 years since joining the team was in 1977 when he called the masters golf on the television network, according to ESPN.com. Scully began with the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York and moved with the franchise to Los Angeles in 1958.
Scully was elected as the new media wing National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. He called the best game abandoned Don Larsen, Sandy Koufax in 1956 in 1965 and Dennis Martinez in 1991, and 19 non-strikers.
