Taylor Swift's Surprise Prom Response

Cancer-Fighting Teen Invites Taylor Swift To Prom; Gets Surprise Response: Many guys want to go on a date with Taylor Swift. So what makes 18 years, Kevin McGuire Somerdale, New Jersey is no different from the pack of candidates to Swift?

Well, there are a few things, I'll go in a minute. But, suffice it to say, McGuire, who recently asked Swift to Facebook during their prom in June, he received a different answer. Swift declined to ... but asked to accompany him to the prestigious awards show in April as well!

How it all happened? Background: McGuire has been a painful struggle with leukemia since he was 13 years old. He went into remission in 2010, but unfortunately relapsed and is currently fighting cancer for the second time.

Her older sister, Victoria, struck by the courage and character of his brother, began a campaign on Facebook in the hope of giving his greatest desire - to persuade Swift to attend the prom with him.

"For the treatment of Kevin, he kept his character intact, were playing basketball and even football began as a freshman," said Victoria McGuire on Facebook. "Kevin is the sweetest, most generous person 18 years of age could not imagine, meetings, and through its ups and downs, Kevin has never been questioned" why me? "

"Nothing, and I mean nothing brightens a day Kevin Taylor Swift," she said. "Kevin deserves a special event in the life of man."

The idea caught the attention of Victoria Local News, who asked her about it. "[Kevin] said," Who wants to go to prom with me? I'm going bald, my appearance does not change, "she said branch of NBC." We both looked, and I said, "What if I'm Taylor Swift for the ball with you?"

After the campaign drew almost 90,000 responses, Swift said his sister, McGuire statement on behalf of the day, Facebook Friday. She politely declined his offer to go to the ball, but he said: "I thought, ACM Awards go .. You have my day?"

Terrified teenager told the local news, after reading the message in his bed at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, he did not know what to say. "I just wanted to not vomit." (He recovered enough composure to accept the invitation, if he feels well enough when the time comes.)

Academy of Country Music Awards will be held April 1 in Las Vegas. Kevin, you're not old enough to play yet, but you're already a winner.
